Officials today announced two players from the Saints 2006 draft class and one of Louisiana's former governors will be inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame.

"There is some irony today that we are honoring the first pick of our 2006 draft and the last pick of our 2006 draft," noted Coach Sean Payton.

The team's all time leading receiver, Marques Colston, is one of the inductees.

"Just truly humbled to be on this stage," Colston told the reporters gathered. "Truly humbled to be a part of this great Hall of Fame with so many other great players."

He was the last pick in that draft class.

Running back Reggie Bush was the first pick.  He talked about how great it was to bring hope to the city after Katrina and bring New Orleans its first Super Bowl title.

"People were just running up and down the streets, celebrating, coming together, people crying, in tears, laughing, cheering.  You know, that's what sports is about."

Former Governor Kathleen Blanco was also on hand for the announcement as she will be inducted for helping to get the Superdome repaired and bring the Saints back to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

"This city and this region and Saints fans everywhere really needed something to rally around," Blanco recalled.
