Five separate shooting incidents took place across New Orleans Friday.

The gun violence resulted in three deaths and five people wounded.

Two homicides and two shootings all took place within blocks of each other roughly along South Saratoga between Foucher and Washington Avenues.

NOPD is investigating incidents in First, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Districts.

It began with a murder in the Fourth District.

Just after four o'clock in the afternoon, officers responding to a call of victim near South Saratoga and Washington arrived to find the victim in the breezeway of an apartment building, dead.

Less than an hour later another Sixth District shooting was reported.

Police arrived at a scene six blocks away from the 4pm shooting.

This time two men were down with gunshot wounds.

Later that night, gunfire took place in the same general area off South Saratoga and Foucher.

When police arrived they found a victim suffering with gunshot wounds.

They were transported by EMS to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Meanwhile a woman was shot in the hand in the Fifth District.  NOPD provided no details in that shooting.

And another Fifth District shooting near South Broad and Tulane took place later at night.

The victim in that shooting made his own way to a hospital outside Orleans Parish for treatment.

Finally, early Saturday morning two men were shot off Chef Menteur and Crowder Boulevard.

Both were hospitalized.

NOPD is asking the public for help in getting to the bottom of these crimes.
