New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating an incident discovered late this morning near the intersection of North Rocheblave Street and Jourdan Avenue.

"Around 11:30 a.m., the New Orleans Fire Department responded to the report of a vehicle fire," according to the New Orleans Police Department's public affairs office. "While extinguishing the fire, a body was discovered inside the vehicle." 


NOPD announced a short time later than the incident was classified as a homicide.

Police say anyone who has information should call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at (877) 903-7867 (STOP). Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
