St. Bernard Parish government is telling residents and businesses in the Yscloskey area to boil their tap water, as a precaution after a water main break just north of the Yscloskey Bridge. The advisory is for areas from Shell Beach to the end of Hopedale.
"This includes Proctor’s Landing and the Breton Sound Marina. Repair crews are on site working to repair the break," according to a statement from St. Bernard Parish. "This does not affect any other areas at this time."
It will take 18 to 24 hours to complete tests on water samples to confirm safety.
