Saints quarterback Drew Brees is getting a windfall as part of this $6.1-million judgment against San Diego jeweler Vahid Moradi.
Interest on the judgment has added $2.6 million to the total. And another $166,231 was tagged on as prejudgment costs bringing the total to $8.9-million.
A Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate story says defendent Vahid Moradi is appealing the verdict in the hopes of a reducing the judgment or get it nullified.
Brees sued Moradi in 2018 charging Moradi charged him $15-million dollars on diamonds appraised at about half that price.
Moradi countersued Brees claiming the quarterback was being scammed by diamond appraiser Aldo Dinelli.
A jury awarded Brees $6,130,767 in July.
