Calling it his "thumbs-up" for the Who Dat Nation, Brees posted the picture to his Instagram after what he called a successful surgery this afternoon in Los Angeles.
Now comes recovery and re-hab for the competitive Brees, who has only missed one game in his entire NFL career due to injury -- a 2015 game at Carolina, where Luke McCown filled in.
Saints head coach Sean Payton still has not named a starter for Sunday's game in Seattle. Some combination of Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill is expected.
