British Airways flights to and from New Orleans to London have been canceled due to a pilots strike.
Tonight's 9:35pm departure to London Heathrow has been canceled along with nearly 100% of all flights according to the airline.
The cancellations will effect roughly 48 hours worth of flights, affecting as many as 195,000 travelers, due to a strike by pilots over pay.
The U.K.’s flagship carrier said in a statement Monday that it had “no way of predicting how many (pilots) would come to work or which aircraft they are qualified to fly.”
As a result, it said it had “no option but to cancel nearly 100%” of its flights for the duration of the strike.
The airline has offered effected passengers a full refund or rebooking on another flight at a later date.
British Airways operates up to 850 flights a day. London’s sprawling Heathrow Airport was most affected by the work stoppage as it is the airline’s hub and is used for many of the company’s long-haul international flights, like those to Armstrong International.
German carrier Condor operates a flight to Frankfurt which leaves about 25-minutes later than British Airways. There is no word if that flight is sold-out or if seats are available.
