Amazon plans to hire 100,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada, continuing its recent hiring spree amid a jump in online shopping. The e-commerce giant says the new full- and part-time positions will pay at least $15 an hour and include benefits and signing bonuses of up to $1,000 in some cities. Amazon also says it will open 100 new operations buildings this month, including fulfillment centers, delivery stations, sorting centers and other sites.
