Jennifer Kushinka reporting...

When Stein Mart became the latest struggling retailer to succumb to the pandemic by filing for bankruptcy, the 112-year old off-price retailer said it expected to close “a significant portion” of its stores. Now, it says all 279 will close, including 7 in Louisiana, 8 in Alabama and 6 in Mississippi.

Carnival Corporation has been compromised by a ransomware attack that occurred on Saturday, which the company says, "accessed and encrypted a portion of one brand’s IT systems."  Carnival says the breach included unauthorized access to personal data of guests and employees.”

Many fast-food chains have suffered severe financial losses during the pandemic – but not Popeye’s. The New Orleans-based brand says it plans to continue expanding across the country and abroad, which is the complete opposite of what many, other popular chains are doing. There is talk of a new menu item following the soaring popularity of its chicken sandwich.  Popeye’s is also expected to focus its marketing on boneless items and drawing in more female customers.
