South Louisiana is taking notice of the Eastbank baseball team playing in the Little League World Series tournament up in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The buzz is about the River Ridge team and how they continue to advance in the tournament.
"You know we've been in a little bit of a bubble up here and we are so occupied with everything going on up here, but I have heard that there is a pretty decent buzz going around in the city but again we feel like we are on an island up here," Coach Scott Frazier said regarding his team.
Since the first loss against Hawaii, the Louisiana team has won 3 straight. Frazier says the momentum started to build early in that game.
"I think that momentum started to build in the 3rd or 4th inning against Hawaii," Frazier said. "After we got through a little of the jitters early in the game, the kids started to settle in," he said.
Frazier continues to talk up his team.
"It's amazing to me how these little guys are able to come out here and play in front of tens of thousands of people with TV and everything else," Frazier added. "They are exceptional young ball players but you know, we have always had very good teams in the past."
Coach Scott Frazier says with a game scheduled for tonight he likes the position they are in.
"It's almost like we are at the doorstep of Heaven, it's pretty sweet up here," said Frazier.
