Changes to Hurricane Laura donations in N.O.

Donations of toiletry and other essential personal items for Hurricane Laura victims will now be sent to Second Harvest Food Bank, instead of United Way of Southeast Louisiana.

This is due to the overwhelming response over the past few days of donations.

"I am so proud of the people of this city. You have responded with so much love and support for Hurricane Laura victims. We have roughly ten-thousand evacuees sheltering in New Orleans, and I have seen first-hand how the donated items have brought comfort to so many who are suffering," said New Orleans Council Vice President, Helena Moreno.

The Junior League of New Orleans will continue to take personal hygiene and baby care products until Friday.

Anyone interested in dropping off toiletry items such as soap, lotion, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, cotton swabs and brushes to Second Harvest can do so Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM - 4 PM at 700 Edwards Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70123.

Diapers for children and adults, baby formula and feminine hygiene products can be dropped off at the Junior League of New Orleans until Friday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM at 4319 Carondelet, New Orleans, LA 70115.
