A child is wounded after a shooting outside of George Washington Carver High School in New Orleans.
"The NOPD is investigating a non-fatal shooting near the 3000 block of Higgins Blvd.," NOPD Director of Communications Andy Cunningham said in an email. "The juvenile victim suffered a gunshot wound to the hip."
New Orleans Emergency Medical Services says they were called to the school after 10:00am.
EMS transported the high school age boy.
Authorities have not said if the shooting happened on campus or not.
The school was not placed on lockdown.
