Police in Terrebonne Parish say a call for a pizza delivery in Gray was actually a scheme to rob the driver of the food.

“On Tuesday, Dec. 24 at about 7:25 p.m., a report was received that a pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint on the 2700 block of West Park Avenue in Gray,” according to a news release.

When the driver got to the address on Christmas Eve, he was greeted by an armed suspect.

“The driver was approached by a male subject after he arrived at the delivery location. The subject produced a handgun and demanded the pizza. The driver complied and the subject fled on foot."

Police did not indicate that the suspect demanded or attempted to rob the victim of anything other than the food.

The home appeared to be abandoned.

Cops are asking for help finding the robber.

“The suspect was described as a medium-toned black male, clean cut, about 5’6” tall wearing a dark green hoodie, gray cargo shorts and long white socks.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 876-2500 or Bayou Region Crime Stoppers at 1-800-743-7433.

“Tips to Crime Stoppers may be made anonymously and could result in a cash reward.”
