You have commitments, you write checks, you book automatic payments, you work in civil service, what could go wrong?

According to our media partner, WWL-TV, a technical issue left a lot of New Orleans city employees in the lurch Friday.  Nearly one half of the city's 2950 administrative and weekly employees didn't get their timely bank deposit.

Fortunately, Police and Firefighters were not part of the those who didn't paid.  Unfortunately for those who didn't get paid, phones started ringing from creditors and late penalties started to ring up in their accounts.

City press secretary LaTonya Norton says ADP, the payroll giant who handles New Orleans city employees, called it a sporadic issue with processing and they worked through the day to correct the problem.

By 3pm, the City's Accounting Bureau still hadn't heard whether ADP had corrected the situation.  But ADP did say they would reimburse employees for any overdraft fees.

Three hours later ADP released a statement saying they have released funds to individual banks and all employees would see their funds deposited no later than Monday, July 8.

ADP also said they were working with the City to find out the cause of the issue.
