A man is reportedly in stable condition after another man stabbed him and attacked him with a hatchet.
Police say it was an act of retaliation.
"Victim confronted suspect about earlier altercation involving suspect and victim’s relative," according to police reports. "Suspect produced hatchet and small knife and stabbed victim twice with knife and struck him with hatchet."
It happened around 10:30pm in the 2100 block of Clara Street in Central City.
Cops arrested 67-year-old Joseph Montegut.
"Officers responded and apprehended suspect at his residence."
The victim is described as a 44-year-old male.
"Victim transported to hospital and listed in stable condition."
