Court documents say New Orleans Police believe a murder suspect chased down a man and fatally shot him Saturday after he caught the victim vandalizing his car, The New Orleans Advocate reports.
Detectives booked 41-year-old Tyrone Cannon on a charge of second degree murder.
It happened shortly after 8:30 Saturday morning in the 1800 block of Iberville Street. The Advocate reports the suspect said he went outside to investigate what sounded like his car being damaged, spotted Kenneth Jones, the alleged vandal, and got in his vehicle to chase Jones, who fled on foot.
Witnesses reported seeing Cannon cut Jones off with his car, get out, proceed to fight with him, and then pull a gun and fire it three times, police said.
