New Orleans Police say a man was shot around 4:45am on Bourbon Street.
"A call reporting shots fires in the 100 block of Bourbon Street was received around 4:43 a.m.," Public Information Officer Gary Scheets said in an email. "Subsequently, a subject arrived at a local hospital by private conveyance suffering from a gunshot wound."
He says the victim then left the hospital before he could be treated.
"The subject left the hospital without seeking treatment or leaving any identifying information."
About two hours later he came back.
"The subject wounded in this incident, described as a 25-year-old black male, returned to a local hospital at 6:47 a.m. in a private vehicle," Scheets explained. "He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the right thigh."
Detectives are working to determine what happened and how the man was shot.
