A 33-year old New York City dominatrix is feeling the pinch of a loss of business due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Aviva Diamond has been a professional sex worker in the more kinky side of the profession for the last six years.
Her business requires in-person physical contact for her clients.
However since the middle of March, Diamond says her cadre of clients have cancelled sessions over concerns about contracting the virus.
Diamond tells the New York Post she’s seen thousands of dollars of lucrative sessions cancelled.
She says a typical week of work consists of eight-to-15 hours of in-person sessions.
This makes up about 90% of her income.
“It’s been a challenge for me to make this shift from mostly in-person sex work to exclusively operating online,” Diamond tells the paper.
“I am producing more videos, adding content to my online subscription platforms, promoting and expanding on social media, and offering phone and Skype sessions.”
Diamond says that luxury experiences like the kind she produces is one of the first things to go by the wayside in a recession.
She laments her work will be jeopardized for months.
