LSU today announced all planned study abroad programs have been canceled through mid-August due to coronavirus concerns, The Advocate reports.

The school said the decision came after careful consideration.

Students already abroad can finish their studies so long as new travel advisories aren't announced. Students who were abroad in countries such as China, Iran, Italy, and South Korea have already returned home and are in a two-week self-quarantine.

The university is working with students to reimburse fees and air travel costs.
