President Donald Trump visited the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Friday afternoon for a tour and to meet with officials about the coronavirus outbreak -- but on his way to the Atlanta facility, he encountered protesters critical of his administration's response to the outbreak.
"Welcome, chief idiot," read the sign of one protester along his route, according to the pool report.
"We need a vaccine against Trump," read another.
"Have faith in science," urged another protester's sign.
Trump’s visit had been postponed earlier in the day and removed from his official schedule but it was later added back.
Trump said his trip had been postponed over a possible coronavirus case involving a CDC worker, but he said it was no longer a concern.
