Dorignac's shuts down for "extensive deep cleaning" after employee contracts coronavirus

Another Metairie grocery store is shutting down, temporarily, for cleaning.

"In an abundance of caution for the protection of our community,employees & customers, Dorignac’s will be CLOSED for extensive deep cleaning from Saturday, April 4 -Sunday, April 12," the store posted on its Facebook page. 


WWL-TV reports a Dorignac's employee tested positive for coronavirus.

"We will RE-OPEN on Monday, April 13. Regular hours will be 8am-8pm," the store said in its announcement. "Senior Shopping Hour will resume Thursday, April 16, 7am-8am."

Trader Joe's in Metairie had to close earlier this week for cleaning when two of its employees tested positive for COVID-19. It reopened today.
