
Mrs. Brees also described the challenge of home-schooling their four children.
"Well, I've flunked two kids already, and I'm probably going to be fired for drinking on the job."
On the topic of football, Drew discussed the possibility of playing without fans in the stadium, and Saints head coach Sean Payton's bout with COVID-19.
"I talked to him right when I got the news that he had contracted the virus," said Drew. "He made it through that just fine, and I actually talked to him the day that he was cleared from that, and he certainly seemed like his normal self. He was talking about football, talking about free agency, talking about the draft."
Drew said it was the NBA's discussions about playing without fans that got him thinking about what it would be like if the NFL did that.
"You're used to those loud, electric atmospheres," he said. "I think it would be really weird."
Drew said the fans help the team in more ways that just screaming loud while the defense is on the field.
"Whenever you get hit and knocked down, and you're wondering what happened, you just listened to the sound of the fans, and they'd tell you whether the ball was complete or not."
