Kenner Police have suspended their search near Power Blvd. and Riverside Dr. for a man who shot at one of their officers after the officer tried to pull him over on Power Blvd.
Kenner Police Chief Michael Glaser said after first refusing to pull over for the officer late this morning, the driver eventually stopped over at Power and Riverside Dr. in Metairie, got out of the vehicle, and ran into a nearby apartment complex.
"The suspect fled the vehicle. The Kenner Police officer gave a foot pursuit," Glaser told WWL-TV. "As they were running through the complex, the suspect produced a chrome handgun and fired one shot at the police officer, not hitting him."
Glaser said the suspect managed to escape the pursuing officer.
