The driver who struck a pregnant woman as she crossed a street during Mardi Gras was drunk at the time.
WWLTV reports 36-year-old James Gibson now faces a drunk driving charge, along with vehicular negligent injuring and several other charges after he hit a woman with his car in Treme' near St. Phillip and N. Claiborne Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on Fat Tuesday.
The woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Gibson was also hospitalized and arrested on a $12,000 bond.
