Early voting is over. Now we wait for people to go vote this Saturday, election day.
According to Dennis DiMarco, Registrar of voters in Jefferson Parish early voting has been much better than 4 years ago.
"Four years ago, in person, we had 11,269 coming to our office, this year, four years later, 21,091," said DiMarco. "In other words, an increase of over 87 percent."
DiMarco says it's the local races getting the interest, plus the Governor's race too.
"I think for the Governor's race, there has been a big push by both national parties, to get out the vote, and I also think you had Parish President, that's a big issue," DiMarco said.
Plus, most of the council races are on the ballot.
He says he has no idea what to expect this Saturday, because of the LSU-Florida game. It does look like the weather will be great on Saturday so DiMarco says that usually gets people to go out and vote.
