Family Gras back on schedule for beautiful Sunday wrap-up

Metairie's Family Gras at Clearview Mall looks to finish its 2019 party in fine fashion.

Saturday's rains are gone, plenty of sunshine is promised, as is a great show with great music and food.

"The food that we have out here is not the typical kinds of food that you have at festivals," says producer Greg Buisson. "This is not hot dogs and hamburgers. This some of Louisiana's finest cuisine with people like Andrea's and people like that that are serving. So, it's very, very different."

Musical acts today include Jenna Hunts, Perfect Love, and the Creole Strings Beans, with headliners The Gatlin Brothers and Brett Eldridge.

The new Krewe of Kings parade will roll right through the festival between the final two acts.

"The parade will enter into Clearview Mall from Veterans and come directly through the crowd," says Buisson.."It goes behind the mall to disband back there. So people will actually have the chance to see the parade, enjoy the parade, then turn around and watch the concert."

He says all the krewes have been told to save their beads and really throw heavily when they get to Clearview Mall.
