A fiery four-vehicle crash closed the I-12 in Hammond for hours this morning. Hammond police say one of the vehicles was a large box truck and there was a fire.
There were no fatalities but two people involved in the crash were taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. Several others were also hurt.
“The interstate was closed for about three hours for investigation and clean up,” said Lisa Lambert, Public Relations Officer for the city of Hammond.
All lanes reopened about 10:30 this morning.
