We sure missed their scheduled appearance at Jazz Fest but for Rolling Stones fans what they heard this morning was music to their ears when they learned that Mick Jagger is on the mend and they're ready to hit the road.

We talked with Advocate music writer Keith Spera about the Stones history in New Orleans.  He says it's been kind of scant.

''They haven't played here a lot but they certainty cite New Orleans as an influence, they recorded 'Time Is On My Side,' the song Irma Thomas did," Spera said..

The last show in New Orleans was the Voodoo Lounge tour some 25 years ago, and even though the tickets will be expensive, Spear says, hey, ''it's the Stones.''

''You don't know how many more opportunities you're going to have to ever see the Stones and there are very few bands out there, that have the kind of history these guys do,'' Spera said.

The tickets go on sale May 31 for the Superdome show on July 14.
