A fire in an apartment took the life of a 3-year-old girl Sunday evening.
Jefferson Parish East Bank Fire Chief Dave Tibbets, said the girl was rescued by firefighters and EMS performed CPR on her but she died at a hospital.
The fire broke out at the Bellemont Apartments, near Riverside and Jeannette around 5:44 p.m.
The investigation into how the fire started is continuing.
The fire was brought under control.
