The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch until 1:00pm for all of Southeast Louisiana.

There is a threat of heavy rain that could cause streets and low lying areas to fill with water.

Overnight storms blew through with radar indicated hail and tornadoes may have formed over part of lower Jefferson Parish, Lafourche, St. Bernard and Plaquemines Parish.

There was a tornado warning just before 3:00am as radar indicated a possible tornado on the Westbank of Jefferson Parish moving into Plaquemines.  That continued into parts of St. Bernard. There was an earlier warning for Lafourche and lower Jefferson.

Additional rain today could also cause flooding.

"Another round of intense heavy rainfall is anticipated across the saturated west-central Gulf Coast region," The National Weather Service posted. "A moderate risk of excessive rainfall is in effect."

Areas from Texas through all of Louisiana and most of Mississippi are under flash flood watches and warnings.

WWL TV Meteorologist Chris Franklin noted, "Another wet day for Saturday with a few rounds of potentially heavy downpours. Expect around 80% as another upper disturbance keeps triggering the showers and storms."
