Former four-term Louisiana Governor and convicted felon Edwin Edwards was taken to a hospital in Baton Rouge today, The Advocate reports.

Family reportedly found the 92-year-old unresponsive this morning.

The Advocate reports he was given IV fluids at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and was lucid while doctors checked his heart.

Edwards’ biographer Leo Honeycutt tells us that it appears the former governor was suffering from low blood sugar and is in much better condition now.

Honeycutt says Edwards is doing much better now and is actually joking around with family and friends.
