St. Charles Sheriff’s Office announced deputies have found and apprehended the fugitive they say, stole a deputy’s patrol vehicle and led them on a chase.
Corporal James Grimaldi with the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office says, deputies found Michael Stevens John just before 8:oo p.m. yesterday. He says two detectives were conducting surveillance near an area in New Orleans where Michael John was known to frequent. While canvasing the area, they spotted John walking into a convenience store where they were able to detain him without incident.
Authorities say John will be transported to St. Charles Parish for questioning, then he will be booked into jail for charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Theft, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, and Aggravated Escape.
