Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards says coronavirus is hitting Louisiana hard.
"We are seeing the numbers rise rapidly," Edwards explained. "We know that we have a relatively high number of cases based on our population."
The governor noted that Louisiana is some six times smaller than the population of Texas, but is seeing more cases than the Lone Star State.
"If you look at cases per capita, we are number three or number four in the country."

He says that is among the biggest concern he has, in terms of the ability to meet the medical demands.
Edwards stressed that everyone over the age of 60 is at the highest risk, based on the impacts of COVID-19 elsewhere.
"You really need to be limiting your interaction with other individuals and in crowds at this time."
Edwards announced that as of noon on Saturday, Louisiana had 67 state confirmed test results.
