The owners of the partially collapsed Hard Rock Hotel construction site in downtown New Orleans today said in a court hearing that they could demolish the building and recover the remains inside by mid-July.
The judge today told the city and the owners to come to an agreement by Wednesday.
Engineering experts testifying for the owners said their plan is safe and won't harm neighboring properties, and has the best chance of recovering the remains of the two workers whose bodies are still trapped in the rubble. Remains of a third victim were recovered last fall.
The collapse happened October 12, more than six months ago.
