New Orleans-born entertainer Harry Connick Jr. is in town working on a television tribute to the people working the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic in New Orleans.
The production is shooting in locations around the city, featuring health care workers, sanitation crews, public safety workers, grocery store employees and others. The special will also honor some of Louisiana’s cultural standard-bearers lost to the pandemic -- like jazz pianist Ellis Marsalis, Connick’s piano teacher.
