The patriarch of the Duck Dynasty family gets a little bit bigger thanks to a DNA search.
According to People, Phil Robertson along with his family, Al, Jep, Willie, and Jase revealed on a podcast that he has an adult daughter no one knew about.
Al explained he had received a letter from a 45-year-old woman named Phyliss who claimed she was his sister.
"So basically, it was from a woman who said that by a DNA search, she thinks that dad might be her dad," Al said.
He said he "dismissed" the letter at first based on the woman’s birth date which was after a time when his dad Phil became devoted to Christianity back in the 1970s.
Phil married his wife Kay in 1966 and had been married since then.
"Well once we get into that and start looking at it a little more deeply, I'm like, 'Oh woah, woah... there might be something to this,'" Al said.
Al adds he eventually confronted his parents about the woman and convinced Phil to take a DNA test which he says came back 99 percent positive.
Phil said his family already met Phyliss and that the Duck Dynasty audience can meet her on an upcoming podcast.
"It's a pretty cool explanation of redemption, reconciliation, love," said Phil. "As it turns out, 45 years, you have a daughter that you don't know about, and she has a father she doesn't know about. 45 years that doesn't sound like very long but you say, that's a while. So finally, after all those years, we come together."
