New Orleans Police are investigating two homicides that happened in separate overnight incidents.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m., police were called because of a shooting in the 2300 block of St. Anthony Street.

"Upon arrival, they discovered an unknown adult male victim unresponsive at a residence suffering from a gunshot wound," police said in a statement. Authorities pronounced the man dead on the scene.

About three hours earlier, officers on patrol in the NOPD Fifth District came across a body in the 2800 block of Almonaster Avenue.

"The victim was suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body," said police. "EMS arrived and pronounced the victim dead on the scene."

Police say anyone who has information should call the NOPD Homicide Unit at (504) 658-5300. Tips can also be left with Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at (877) 903-7867 (STOP). Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
