You wake up with a sore throat, or maybe fever and chills, but you still end up going to work.  When should you trudge on to the office and when do you stay home and rest to get better?

Spreading your sickness to everyone else in the office is certainly not a good idea.  Dr. Granville Morse, Chairman for Urgent Care for Ochsner says a sore throat, stuffy nose, some congestion is most likely a common cold and many times people will go to work under the weather.

"But take those same symptoms and add a severe cough, achiness and a fever say over 100.  That's more like a flu-like illness and that's when we would not want you to go to work," Morse said.

And the same applies to children and whether they should go to school or stay at home
