The governor's race starts all over again with incumbent Democrat John Bel Edwards in a runoff against Republican upstart Eddie Rispone.Voters are likely in for an intense campaign.

If you liked President Trump's Lake Charles rally, you'll probably like Rispone's runoff campaign.

"We're going to see lots of national Republican money and national Republican figures. probably including the president coming to Louisiana to campaign for Eddie Rispone," said political analyst Clancy DuBos.

DuBos says the governor will likely counter that this  isn't supposed to be a national election.

"We're going to hear Governor John Bel Edwards remind voters this is not a national election, this is about roads, and bridges, and hospitals, and TOPS."

One of the voter demographics that helped John Bel Edwards win for years ago didn't go his way this time. Rural whites ended up voting going Republican.

"The white, rural voter is typically a Trump voter, so this time, they kind of came home to the Republican party and Edwards needs to try and woo them back."

There are a little under five weeks of campaigning to go before the next election day, November 16.
