Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced Friday that the IRS is moving the Tax Day deadline from April 15 to July 15 amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The change will give individuals and businesses three extra months to file their taxes with no interest or penalties.
“At President Donald Trump’s direction, we are moving Tax Day from April 15 to July 15. All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties,” Mnuchin tweeted.
