Jefferson Parish leaders today kicked off a plan to determine the best way bring the parish back from the pandemic when it comes to government, business, education and more.
The Jefferson Council approved the formation of a series of groups.
"These are working groups and task forces," Councilman Dominick Impastato explained.
He said the goal is to answer the many questions facing Jefferson parish. Among them, "How are we going to adjust? What ways can we improve government? What ways can we address the various needs that are within Jefferson Parish?"
He proposed the structure, which the council unanimously approved.
Councilman Byron Lee noted, "This is reminiscent of what we did after Katrina."
Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng commended the plan.
"It is the full spectrum of what we will have to do as a parish to get through this."
