Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto says deputies tonight shot and killed a suspected murderer.
According to the sheriff, deputies were attempting to arrest the man at an apartment in the 2200-block of Cleary Ave. when the suspect pulled a gun.
“Our officers have to defend themselves and they have a hard job to do," Lopinto said.
Deputies were attempting to arrest the suspect for the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Kenyon Clark.
Clark was killed last month at Lemon Playground in Jefferson Parish.
That shooting also wounded Clark’s older brother, Grambling State University wide receiver Darrell “D.J.” Clark.
