According to the sheriff's office, the victim, a woman, had requested a ride-share vehicle come pick her up. The suspect arrived a short time later in a late-model Nissan Sentra or Versa -- but he wasn't the ride-share car that had been assigned to her call.
"The victim, who was unfamiliar with the practice, entered the vehicle at the suspect's urging without verifying if it was the correct vehicle," the sheriff's office said. "The suspect then drove the victim around, and while driving, reached over and inappropriately touched the victim. He also exposed himself and masturbated in front of the victim as he drove."
The victim eventually managed to escape the vehicle and notify the sheriff's department.
"Our investigators believe that the suspect was not working as a ride-share driver at the time of the incident, but merely posing as one," according to JPSO.
