Former Saints receiver Joe Horn has taken a guilty plea to defrauding the NFL's health care program.
On Thursday, the 47-year old wide receiver confessed to the crime before a federal judge in Kentucky.
Horn admitted to receiving nearly $150,000 in false medical expenses to the health care program for retired players.
Last week it was learned Horn and 9 others were involved in the scheme and facing charges.
It was said Horn had been negotiating with the U.S. Attorney, but was not named as part of the indictment announced last week which focused on 9 other players.
Horn could face upwards of a decade in prison and a quarter million dollar fine. Chances are he may escape much of the penalty since he did accept a plea deal.
Clinton Portis, Correll Buckhalter, Robert McCune, John Eubanks, Tamarick Vanover, Carlos Rogers, Ceandris Brown, James Butler, Fredrick Bennett, and Etric Pruitt.
Horn played six seasons with the Saints from 2000-to-2006.
