The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double shooting in Avondale, which left a woman dead and a man injured.
Sheriff Joe Lopinto says it happened Tuesday about 7:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Millie Drive.
When responding deputies arrived at the home, they found the two victims inside. Both victims were shot. The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The male victim is believed to have a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital.
Lopinto says his deputies are on the search for 42-year-old Lloyd Elsalvador Jones as a person of interest in the shooting. They say he was last seen fleeing the scene in a dark-colored GMC pickup truck. Lopinto says the shooting is believed to be domestic incident.
