The man accused of opening fire on a Kenner police officer last week managed six days on the run.
Hassan Norris sparked a massive manhunt after reportedly fleeing the scene of the traffic stop on Riverside Drive last week.
Norris is said to have fled into a large apartment complex and slipped through the dragnet as officers from Kenner and Jefferson Parish Sheriffs poured into the area, blocking streets and searching door-to-door.
A JPSO spokesman confirms Norris was picked up on Sunday by U.S. Marshals in Tennessee.
The 20-year-old convicted felon will likely be extradited back to Jefferson Parish quickly to face one count of attempted first degree murder of a law enforcement officer.
