The Krewe of Nyx today announced local TV legend Angela Hill as their 2019 Grand Marshal.

"Angela Hill is New Orleans," Nyx founder and Captain Julie Lea said. "She is part of the fabric of this city and has obviously been a huge part of Mardi Gras over the years. I couldn’t be happier that she will lead this year’s parade."

Hill spent 38 years as a presence in New Orleanian's homes via WWL-TV from 1975 through her retirement in 2013. Later that year, she joined WWL Radio as an afternoon talk show host, and has also been a part of WWL's team coverage on Fat Tuesday.

"I can’t put into words how honored I am to be Grand Marshal of Nyx," Hill said. "These incredible women have created a Krewe with so much love and energy. To have grown into the largest Krewe in a few years says everything about their inclusiveness and vision."

Nyx rolls Wednesday, February 27.
