
A charter school in Lakeview has been placed on lockdown, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
"NOPD has been notified that Edward Hynes Charter School in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue has been placed on lockdown, on order of the school's principal, after the school reportedly received threatening phone calls," said NOPD Public Information Officer Aaron Looney. "Lakeview Crime Prevention District and NOPD Third District officers are responding."
Police had no additional details, but said updates will be provided when further information becomes available.
