There’s good news from the Louisiana Department of Health with the latest COVID-19 coronavirus numbers released at noon Saturday.
Friday brought the second improvement of hospital capacity since mid-April.
The number of hospitalizations peaked in mid-April and has been dropping.
Numbers from the Department of Health report 40-deaths and 562-new cases for a total of 31,417 cases overall.
Orleans Parish reports 6,674 cases with 468-deaths.
For the first time, Jefferson Parish has surpassed Orleans in the number of cases with 6,679 and 379 deaths.
