A New Orleans Civil District Court judge has cleared the way for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and three referees from the NFC Championship game to be deposed in a lawsuit over the infamous blown call late in the NFC Championship Game.
Attorneys for the plaintiffs and the NFL met for a status conference this morning with Civil District Court Judge Nicole Sheppard. WWL-TV reports the depositions should occur in New Orleans in September.
"I think the city of New Orleans and the Saints organization and the fan base deserve to know what happened in that NFC Championship Game," said plaintiff's attorney Tony LeMon. "So we can get some level of truth, some information so that we can all heal a little bit better."
Attorneys for the NFL have not commented on the suit.
The plaintiffs are asking for $75,000 in damages, which they say will go to charity.
